WIFIP EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT TRUST, Kisumu, Kenya

WIFIP Education and Development Trust is a non profit organisation founded on the desire to contribute to the empowerment of marginalised communities in general and women in particular, through education and development initiatives. Based a working in Western Kenya, WIFIP believes in enabling people to have a voice and take action, through appropriate social and economic development initiatives.

WIFIP has four main sections namely Materials development and production; Learner Support and Research, Partnership and Networking; and Finance and Administration. WIFIP staff consists of professionals in health and business management, lawyers, agriculturalists and nutritionists.

WIFIP produces high quality radio/audio programmes for non formal education. These materials have been successfully used to transform the lives of thousands of families in the Lake Victoria region over the last four years.

Activities implemented

  • Creating awareness on ecological sanitation, rainwater harvesting and storage systems to improve on health, sanitation and environmental conditions of the people and the Lake basin area
  • Training personnel and community on ecosan management and construction
  • Producing radio programmes on water and sanitation
