COMMUNITY CARE TRUST (COMM-CARE), Musoma, Tanzania

COMM - CARE is a local organization registered as a trust on 16th March 2005. COMM-CARE’S activities are focused at both grass root as well as National levels. COMM - CARE believes that, If there is Right in a Soul, There will be Beauty in a Man. If there is Beauty in a man, there will be Harmony in a Family. If there is harmony in a Family, There will be Order in a Nation. If there is Order in a Nation, There will be Peace in The world. That every one has right to freedom, equality, and good conditions of life, a person has a right of living in an environment of equality that permits life of dignity, Peace and well being. Every Human Being bears a solemn responsibility of protecting and improving environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

Mission:
COMM - CARE is a non governmental, not for profit local organization that engage in a transformation process that is echoed in building a culture of Harmonious social relations through facilitating efforts being directed at reducing Social conflicts especially teenage youth relations and married couples. Moreover, it intends to facilitate a process that leads to a creation of an environment in which information and communication on and about human rights, poverty and environment is directed at the empowerment of communities for harmonious relations and sustainable development.

COMM-CARE Pillars are Social Harmony; Environmental Justice; Democracy; Equality; Empowerment; and Peace. In fulfilling our Vision and Mission, COMM-CARE upholds nine values; Commitment; Professionalism; Passion; Respect; Vibrancy; Integrity; Dynamism; Accountability; and Solidarity.

Activities being implemented

  • Formation of Village Environmental committees (VECs) and training them and community (farmer) groups on ecosan use and management
  • Sensitize the community on ecosan management
  • Establishing multipurpose trees and herb nurseries
  • Constructing ecosan toilets
